Helping Kids Build Bright, Confident Smiles

Chesnut Dental is now accepting new pediatric patients in Needham, Franklin, and Bedford.

Serving Our Community Since 1970

We opened in Needham in 1970, and we now proudly serve the communities surrounding Needham, Franklin, and Bedford.

In 1978 we were the first practice in Massachusetts with a dual-trained pediatric dentist and orthodontist. We are known for the coordination of care between our pediatric, orthodontic and adult dental specialists. We also maintain a close relationship with Boston Children’s Hospital and the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where many of our doctors were trained and teach when not seeing patients at Chestnut Dental.

Why Choose Us? Family Dentistry Since 1970

We are open on weeknights and Saturdays for convenient appointments that fit your schedule. And we offer 24-hour on-call emergency dental service for our patients. Our dental specialists– including our prosthodontist, sleep apnea specialist, periodontist, orthodontists, and pediatric dentists – received years of additional training to care for you and your family and are board certified or board eligible. Encouraging a Comfortable First Visit

Parents should not over-emphasize the first visit and refrain from using any words that could cause unnecessary fear, such as “needle” or “drill.” We are experienced in dealing with children who have anxiety, and our doctors and hygienists have methods for explaining treatment procedures in a positive and pleasant manner to avoid any anxious or negative feelings toward dentistry.

Testimonial

Diana Valsky

Both my kids have been seeing Dr. Hertzberg at Chestnut dental. Dr. Hertzberg has always been kind, gentle, knowledgeable and great with kids. My son is extremely anxious/nervous and he had to have a filling. She did an amazing job making my son feel comfortable by explaining each step and it was seamless. Recently we went in with tooth trauma and again — amazing experience. My kids also love the large balloons they get at the end of their visit! Highly recommend Dr. Hertzberg! 10/10!

My son went in for a filling. The experience from start to finish was amazing. Both Dr. McBride and Sarah made my son feel comfortable by explaining the procedure, showing him all of the tools and talking to him throughout. He even was given a mirror to watch the whole process which he enjoyed and eased his nervousness. My son is my fourth child and every experience with each of my children has been personal to what they need. It’s been almost 20 years! Chestnut Dental is the best.
